Persons with disabilities mostly are not considered potential members of the workforce. Perception, fear, myth and prejudice continue to limit understanding and acceptance of disability in workplaces everywhere. To be specific, visually impaired persons (VIPS) have been identified as little benefited and more disadvantaged group in the labor market. Even if efforts have been made to improve the overall work situation of VIPs, inadequate opportunities are created to them and their exposure to various challenges remains unchanged. Thus, the challenges and its sources of VIPs at work; current opportunities that VIPs; employers and other organizations roles in improving the conditions of VIPs at work; and identifying the possible interventions that to be applied to improve the conditions of VIPs at work are critically examined in the study.
